→ The hangi which means ‘earth oven’ is a traditional way of cooking for a large number of people. How they boil their is that we all know that hot rocks and water makes steam and makes the water boil.

→I think because it helps the rats not to come near the food? Or is it just the Maori way.
7. In your own words, explain how to build a hangi.
→ You will need some wood or branches. You will lay your long branches or wood across the pit. When you are finished doing that you have to make sure that the pit is big enough to put in all your meat/vegetables and stone. Also add news paper so that it would start the fire.
