The Atmosphere surrounds our planet because it protects us from the sun from not making everything on our planet dry like the plants, ocean, and many other. but if we did not had the Atmosphere it will be impossible to survive because there is no air to breathe. There are also 5 layers of the Atmosphere that surrounds the Earth. The coldest spheres is Mesosphere.
